Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA)is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's network clients, including both financial services and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

VCA Implementation Service is an augmentation of Visa's consultancy offering, supporting the execution and implementation of recommendations to help scale competitive advantage and operate to succeed in the digital age.

We are seeking a Payments Consulting & Implementation Manager to drive and support the successful delivery of complex client facing card and payment initiatives for Visa's clients across the Nordics. This role goes beyond project management—it combines strategic advisory, deep expertise in card payments, and hands-on execution to help clients implement and optimize solutions across the entire payments value chain.

We are looking for someone who is confident, outspoken, and highly skilled in communication—both written and spoken. You will be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, influencing decisions, and presenting complex ideas in a clear and compelling way. A sales-oriented mindset is essential, as you will identify opportunities to create value for clients and position Visa's solutions as the best fit for their needs.

You will guide clients through the full journey from current state to target solution, leveraging your experience in card payments as well as large-scale transformation projects. Drawing on your knowledge of card schemes, payment rails, and digital payment innovations, you will bring industry best practices, structured delivery approaches, and thought leadership to ensure every project achieves measurable impact.

What you'll do

  • Lead and execute client facing change initiatives from current state to target solution, ensuring smooth implementation of card and payment projects.
  • Manage resources and timelines across Visa, client, and third-party teams, providing clear visibility and progress reporting to stakeholders.
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring alignment on objectives and outcomes.
  • Support sales efforts by identifying new opportunities during engagements and positioning Visa's solutions effectively.
  • Drive delivery excellence, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Foster collaboration across multiple teams and initiatives to ensure seamless integration and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate closely with Visa Consulting counterparts and other Visa business units, leveraging expertise and best practices to deliver maximum client value.
  • Understand client business objectives and translate them into actionable project plans and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in processes, tools, and ways of working to enhance efficiency and impact.
  • Provide thought leadership on the future of payments and retail banking, contributing to strategic discussions and innovation.
  • Collaborate with Visa Hub teams to leverage best practices, share insights, and deliver added value to clients.
Qualifications

This role follows a hybrid working model, with a minimum of 60% of your time each week spent on-site at Visa offices and client locations. This approach ensures strong collaboration with colleagues and clients while maintaining flexibility for remote work when appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Deep understanding of card and payment products
  • Proven experience in the payments industry, ideally within consulting and/or banking
  • Experience delivering consulting or advisory services, with the ability to translate insights into actionable solutions
  • Strong project delivery expertise, including familiarity with methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and spoken), with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Fluent in English and Norwegian (verbal and written)
  • Commercial and sales-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, lead and support sales efforts, and position Visa's solutions effectively

We also value:

  • Experience leading migration or transformation projects in the payments space
  • Ability to bridge business and technical teams, ensuring alignment and clarity
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including at senior executive levels
  • Experience in business readiness and change management
  • Ability to lead projects end-to-end, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
  • Familiarity with digital payment innovations and emerging technologies
  • Awareness and/or interest in AI-driven solutions and their potential applications in payments and financial services
