Cognite is looking for its next cohort of high-impact summer interns. At Cognite, interns are on the front lines of our mission to liberate customer's siloed industrial data. We expect that interns fill key roles on our dynamic customer projects and work closely with the Cognite Team and our enthusiastic customers to rapidly build and scale their digital transformations. The internship program is intended to expose candidates to the implementation lifecycle of our core product, Cognite Data Fusion, at the customer.

You will work on similar tasks that our full-time data engineers are working on, and your contribution will be substantial. At the end of your internship, you will present your work to the rest of Cognite together with your team.

As a Data Engineering intern, your work will be related to:

-Wrangling connected industrial data of sensors, billions of data points, work orders, log entries, ...) in CDF using our Python SDK, SQL, and Apache Spark Data Source.

-Uncover hidden insights and opportunities in complex industrial data through data cleansing and exploratory data analysis

-Create custom data models for data discovery, mapping, and cleansing.

-Design and implement agents using the ATLAS AI workbench for enabling Industrial AI.

-Collaborate with data scientists, project managers and solution architects engineers on project deliveries to enable our customers to achieve the full potential of our industrial dataops platform.

-Contribute to the foundation of our technology by building reusable code and libraries that will be used by our entire engineering team.

-Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability

• You are within 12 months completing an undergrad/grad degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Petroleum/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering)
• You have strong technical competency (Python, SQL, github), drive (self-training / projects) and customer empathy (project experience).
• Teamwork is an important part of the role.
• You collaborate well, and bring out the best in your colleagues as they do in you.
• A passion for problem-solving and a knack for debugging complex technical issues.
• A passion for building things that are used by others.
• You are excited to learn about the physical/industrial world from real experts.
