About the position
A post-doc position in Microbiology is available in the Cancer Molecular Medicine group of Dr. Enserink at the Institute for Cancer Research at the Division for Cancer Medicine from February 01, 2026 for two years (with the opportunity of one year extension). The start date can be negotiated.
The candidate will unravel the effect of the microbiome on treatment response and survival of AML patients.
The organization and research focus
The Cancer Molecular Medicine group is located at the Radium Hospital, which is part of Oslo University Hospital, the largest academic hospital in Scandinavia.
The group is part of a Norwegian Centre of Excellence (Centre for Cancer Cell Reprogramming, "CanCell"), which consists of six research groups focused on the discovery of cancer programs and the interactions of cancer cells with the cellular environment.
One of the group's aims is to better understand how the patient's microbiome, including indolent infections, affect survival of cancer patients. Specifically, this post-doc position will focus on mapping the longitudinal microbiome of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) patients before, during and after treatment.
The goal of the project is to determine how specific microorganisms affect treatment response, survival and quality of life of AML patients.
More information about the group can be found at:
Oslo University Hospital is a workplace with great diversity. We believe this is crucial to solving our tasks in the best possible way. We want this diversity to be reflected among the applicants for our positions, and encourage all qualified candidates, regardless of background, to apply.
