Field Service Engineer – Thermal – Norway

At Vertiv, we are hiring a Field Service Engineer with experience in refrigeration and thermal management products to join our team in Norway. This is a hands-on, technical field role in which you will primarily work at customer sites. While most assignments are centered around Oslo, the position includes travel to locations across Norway and the wider Nordics region.

We also have a strong project pipeline along the southern corridor between Oslo and Kristiansand.

The role is responsible for commissioning, maintenance, component replacements and emergency repairs of Vertiv's Thermal Management products as well as other contracted systems. Another important task is to provide good technical support to customers and internally. Required to establish, promote and maintain excellent relations with all customers, sales managers, distributors and others within the field. Maintain ongoing communication with scheduling teams and department Management.

As Vertiv face to face representative on site, your objective is to promote Vertiv as a professional service provider.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Respond in a professional manner to all assigned service calls while on duty.
• Perform all work in a safe manner and in accordance with established company safety policy.
• Perform all work using good working practice and current codes of practice/legislation relevant to assigned task.
• Assist in ensuring that the planned maintenance completion rate is maintained at a min 90%.
• Assist back office to schedule, plan and close any works as required, using established workflow procedures.
• Keep the scheduling team informed of changes to your schedule and the status of all open jobs.
• Submit daily paperwork in a timely, accurate and complete manner and in case of Wireless Field Service ensure the job is debriefed in a complete and accurate manner at the customer's premises where possible
• Report sales or service leads to the proper department.
• Support company vision and management decisions.
• Ensure that all ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 agreed processes are followed
• Ensure that all Vertiv processes are followed.
• Keep the company vehicle clean and properly maintained.
• Protect all tools and company property issued and keep calibrated as requested
• Work as part of the service team and support business needs.
• Provide a positive influence to peers
• Provide on-site technical assistance with difficult problems
• Work closely & assist department managers, salesman, contracts engineer & managers with their day-to day operational duties.
• Attend customer meetings as required
• The employee ensures that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of [Export Compliance], [Import Compliance], [EU Arrivals and Despatching], as well as [Supply Chain Security] is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company International Trade Compliance Regulation certification program itself

Qualifications
Preferable 5 years' experience of working in a technical service environment with Thermal equipment or similar but the right personality is equally important.

• Experience in refrigeration technology and relevant trade certificate.
• Having Norwegian "F-gas kl 1 certificate.
• Previous environmental service experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong communication skills
• Computer skills include all Microsoft Office associated programs such as, Word, Excel, Outlook
• Self-starter, ability to plan, organize and manage time effectively with ability to work under pressure.
• Clean valid driving license.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Travel on a daily basis to and from customer sites
• Will be required to stay away from home and travel within Norway, Nordics or Europe to support projects when needed.
• Participate on the 24/7 call out rotation
• After-hours and weekend work scheduled with little notice may happen.
• Occasional heavy lifting required
• You will be expected to operate as part of a team
• Company uniform supplied, which must be worn whilst working.
