Cooling Technician / Kjøletekniker
Vertiv are hiring a Cooling Technician / Kjøletekniker with a background in HVAC, Refrigeration, Cooling or Thermal Management products in Norway.This is a hands-on technical field role where you will primarily work at customer sites.
Location: Norway – Field based. We have a strong project pipeline along the southern corridor between Oslo and Kristiansand. Regular project locations include Oslo, Skien/Porsgrunn, Prestestranda/Drangedal kommune, and Kristiansand. We also support customers across the entire country, so travel and overnight stays can be expected at least 50% of the time.
Schedule: Full-time, with participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
The position involves commissioning, maintenance, component replacements, and emergency repairs on Vertiv's Thermal Management products, as well as other contracted systems. You will also provide technical support to customers and internal teams, build and maintain strong relationships with customers, sales managers, distributors, and other stakeholders, and maintain ongoing communication with scheduling teams and department management.
As Vertiv's on-site representative, your key objective is to uphold and promote Vertiv's reputation as a professional and trusted service provider.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond in a professional manner to all assigned service calls while on duty.
- Perform all work in a safe manner and in accordance with established company safety policy.
- Perform all work using good working practice and current codes of practice/legislation relevant to assigned task.
- Assist in ensuring that the planned maintenance completion rate is maintained at a min 90%.
- Assist back office to schedule, plan and close any works as required, using established workflow procedures.
- Keep the scheduling team informed of changes to your schedule and the status of all open jobs.
- Submit daily paperwork in a timely, accurate and complete manner and in case of Wireless Field Service ensure the job is debriefed in a complete and accurate manner at the customer's premises where possible
- Report sales or service leads to the proper department.
- Support company vision and management decisions.
- Ensure that all ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 agreed processes are followed
- Ensure that all Vertiv processes are followed.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and properly maintained.
- Protect all tools and company property issued and keep calibrated as requested
- Work as part of the service team and support business needs.
- Provide a positive influence to peers
- Provide on-site technical assistance with difficult problems
- Work closely & assist department managers, salesman, contracts engineer & managers with their day-to day operational duties.
- Attend customer meetings as required
- The employee ensures that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of [Export Compliance], [Import Compliance], [EU Arrivals and Despatching], as well as [Supply Chain Security] is managed and performed in full compliance with the Company International Trade Compliance Regulation certification program itself
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferable 5 years' experience of working in a technical service environment with Thermal equipment or similar but the right personality is equally important.
- Experience in refrigeration technology and relevant trade certificate.
- Having Norwegian "F-gas kl 1 certificate.
- Previous environmental service experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication skills
- Computer skills include all Microsoft Office associated programs such as, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Self-starter, ability to plan, organize and manage time effectively with ability to work under pressure.
- Clean valid driving license.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Travel on a daily basis to and from customer sites
- Will be required to stay away from home and travel within Norway, Nordics or Europe to support projects when needed.
- Participate on the 24/7 call out rotation
- After-hours and weekend work scheduled with little notice may happen.
- Occasional heavy lifting required
- You will be expected to operate as part of a team
- Company uniform supplied, which must be worn whilst working.
