About the positions

NHH in Bergen, Norway, invites applicants for two three-year postdoctoral positions in labour economics at the Department of Economics. We are looking for two excellent economists with expected completion of PhD no later than date of commencement.

The positions are part of the Centre of Excellence, FAIR. One position is funded by the Norwegian Research Council through Grant Number Childhood gap). This project focuses on intergenerational mobility with a special focus on childhood differences. The second position is funded by NordForsk through Grant Number CARE) and studies sustainable care systems.

The new hires will work on these topics together with the team, but they will also be encouraged to develop an individual research agenda in collaboration with the members of the research group. The positions will involve moderate administrative duties. The positions are based in Bergen, but research travel will be encouraged and there are also opportunities for research stays at collaborating institutions.

The Department of Economics has more than 50 faculty members and is built around a number of internationally renowned research groups in a wide range of fields, providing high quality research and teaching in economics. Besides labour economics, the key research areas at the department are applied microeconomics, behavioral economics, development economics, industrial organisation, macroeconomics, environmental and resource economics, and international trade. The department has an international faculty and is committed to offer an inclusive and supportive work environment with a key focus on carrier opportunities for young faculty.
