About Harbour Energy

Since its creation in 2014, Harbour has grown to become one of the world's largest and most geographically diverse independent oil and gas companies. As part of its growth journey the company successfully completed the acquisition of Wintershall Dea's upstream assets in September 2024.

Today, Harbour is producing between 475,000 and 485,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day with significant production in Norway, the UK, Germany, Argentina and North Africa.

With low GHG emissions intensity and a leading CO2 storage position in Europe, Harbour remains committed to producing oil and gas safely and responsibly to help meet the world's energy needs. Harbour is a global company with approximately 5,000 staff and contractors across its operations and offices.

Our office in Norway is based in Stavanger with around 350 employees.

Purpose of the role:

Summer Job in Norway – Data Science and A.I.

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

The Summer students will have the opportunity to work with the Data Science & AI team. They will partake in projects that leverage Generative AI, ML and/or DL and other statistical methods, and they will contribute to the development of:

  • Data pipelines
  • Backend (software)
  • Frontend (software)

The students will have the opportunity to learn about:

  • Application lifecycle
  • Software architecture
  • Cloud infrastructure

Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience:

The summer student should be in their 4th or 5th (minimum 3 years completed) of higher studies. Meaning, if a bachelor's degree is 3 years then they need to be in their first or final year of their Master's
at the time of application.

Disciplines (preferred):

  • Computer Science
  • Software Engineering
  • Data Engineering
  • Data Science
  • Computational Engineering

Disciplines (secondary preferences):

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Other engineering degrees
