Do you want to work for an industry leader, play a key role in the transition to a data-driven company, and have a genuine interest in technology?
Höegh Evi is looking for a Data Engineer to take a central role in shaping the company's digital platform and developing modern data solutions — the foundation for delivering value through advanced analytics and AI, enabling smarter and faster decision-making across a company at the forefront of the energy sector.
The role reports to the
Senior Vice President IT Kjell Erik Hofland
, and will collaborate closely with data scientists, business stakeholders, and technology teams in a truly international environment. It's also a chance to join a strong culture of curiosity, collaboration, innovation, and integrity, all underpinned by a clear ambition to become data driven.
Responsibilities
Given the strategic importance of data and digitalization at Höegh Evi, this is a role where you will help shape how data creates value across the organization. This includes the strategic use of AI going forward.
You will, both alone and in collaboration with the IT team:
- Engage with business units to understand the requirements and need for data
- Engage with services supplier for data extraction/ exchange of data
- Develop and maintain data models (medallion architecture)
- Design and build secure, scalable data solutions in Microsoft Azure, in addition to the MS Fabric portfolio, using Onelake, Synapse, functional app, Azure DevOps, Purview, Data Factory
- Explore and test new technologies to create even smarter, more sustainable services
- Establish a data driven approach to IT/digitalization, including data quality, data governance and data security
This is a role with significant influence and visibility, working across functions and levels to enable both commercial and sustainability goals.
Who you are
Höegh Evi is looking for an ambitious and forward-thinking data professional who thrives on solving real business challenges. You are deeply motivated by using data to drive value and improve decision-making, and you enjoy working close to the business.
You will succeed in this role if you:
- Take initiative and get things done. You listen carefully to understand what the business truly needs, and turn this into clear, actionable strategies
- You are technically strong and a continuous learner, eager to find solutions to new business challenges and explore the use of emerging technologies
- Work exceptionally well with others - knowing when to let others lead, when to step in, and always without ego. You focus on solving the problem at hand
- Understand that influencing means winning both hearts and minds, and feel comfortable working at all levels, including senior leadership
- Aren't afraid to question how things have been done, bring new perspectives, and build on the best of the past to create something even better.
Technically, you have experience building or managing data platforms, ideally in Azure, and understand the importance of data security and compliance. Höegh Evi cares more about what you know, how you think, and how you apply it, than about the exact number of years of experience or degrees.
