We are now looking for a new Operations Engineer to join our team and help shape the learning platform of the future.As part of the itslearning Operations Team, you will play a central role in modernizing our AWS platform. You will work to standardize and automate core infrastructure, improve reliability and observability, and contribute to the transition to a cloud-based, modern platform.itslearning has already migrated its services to Amazon Web Services (AWS). We are now entering the next phase, aiming to build a fully cloud-native platform with automated operations using Infrastructure as Code and Terraform. You will be a key member of the team driving automation, reliability, and cost efficiency across our environments.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Infrasturcture-as-Code AWS infrastructure (network, compute, storage, observability, security)Provisioning automation, configuration and change managementFurther develop the platform towards cloud-native/container-based hosting in collaboration with product and development teamsImplement best practices for AWS architecture (Identity access management, security controls)Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysisDocument patterns and guide colleagues to simplify, standardise and automate platform operationsFormal QualificationsSolid experience (at least 3 years) with Terraform on AWSExpertise in infrastructure automation and establishing standardsGood understanding of AWS (network, compute/container, storage, observability)Operational experience of incident management, root cause analysis and continuous improvementAbility for clear technical communication and documentationProfessional fluency in English, written as well as verbalPersonal QualitiesWe are looking for someone who not only has technical expertise but also the right attitude and values to drive change and collaborationPositive and proactive: Takes initiative and identifies opportunities for improvement before challenges ariseAction-oriented: Able to turn plans into concrete results and follows through until goals are achievedChange driver: Strong desire to create positive development in the platform and work processesTeam player: Collaborates well in cross-functional teams and contributes to an inclusive environmentScrum experience: Comfortable with agile methods in scrum teamsDocumentation-focused: Values structured documentation and actively uses tools like Confluence and JiraKnowledge sharer: Enjoys teaching and raising the competence of the entire team through mentoring and sharing best practicesIf this sounds exciting, we would love to hear from youWhy itslearning as an employerWith us, you'll meet people who are passionate about education.
