About the role:
Location: Stavanger, Norway
Hours: Full-time
The Subsea Engineer will be responsible for assisting in planning of onshore and offshore operation and execute operations according to Scope of Work. The purpose for this role is to secure a safe operation for Scope of Work and manage tasks for success for the operation.

About the team:
You'll be joining our Motive team, who are mainly based in Stavanger. Over the past few years, this team has grown significantly as Motive continues to expand, and our intention is to continue this. Reporting into Subsea Manager Norway, you'll be working alongside an operations team that strive for high quality service of work.
You will also be working alongside a committed and proud Motive team globally that want to play their part in the growth of the business and support each other daily to create a positive, values driven and hard-working professional environment.
Responsibilities:
People
- Adopt and promote the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout.
- Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc
- Attendance at client meetings, as well as showing company presence within client organisations, as required
Planet
- Lead by example in setting the highest possible standards in the promotion of People Values, HSEQ procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance to the Motive Offshore Group HSEQ Policy, procedures, standards and regulatory obligations.
- Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses or environmental concerns
- Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures and initiatives as they are developed to support our Net Zero objectives.
Product
- To assure the safety, legal compliance and quality of design operations within the Motive Offshore Group through the implementation and by continuous improvement of performance standards, procedures, guidance, training and workforce capability & competence
- To review, update processes and procedures as applicable
- To establish and maintain consistent and legally compliant performance standards and guidance for the Motive group
- Organising hire of approved subcontractors in line with control of Subcontractor Procedures
- Production of reports as and when requested
- Maintaining and controlling jobs and information within the Kinetic Software system
- Analyse and interpret data, manuals and other information to determine specifications and relevant inspection and test procedures
- Demonstrate adherence to governing procedures and work instructions
- Participate in creation/review of procedures and documentation
- Participate in EFAT's and SIT's
- Planning and onshore support of offshore operation, vessel and rig
- Participate in planning/follow-up of Mobilisation and Demob activities
- Promote and ensure compliance to company and regulatory EHS requirements & expectations at all time
- Promote and ensure compliance to company and regulatory Quality management systems at all times
- Compile Final Documentation, for offshore operations
- Identify variation in Scope of Work
- Identifying and reporting of recognised improvement potentials.
- Participate in onshore / offshore works
- Have an understanding of Subsea Control System architecture
- Have an understanding of installation drivers and constraints for Umbilical and Production Control Systems
- Be competent in the management of Umbilical and Production Controls, ensuring products are delivered to agreed technical specifications, on time and within budget
- Plan and supervise offshore diagnostics testing and installation, attending offshore worksites as appropriate.
- Write engineering reports, prepare schedules and develop cost estimates
- Provide Technical Package Management support for procurement of Umbilical and Production Control Systems
- Ensure compliance with project specifications
- Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed
- Prepare design specifications
- Provide manufacture, testing and commissioning support
- Provide Installation, commissioning, start-up and operational support
Required skills / knowledge:
- Planning and Operational knowledge
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Strong language and communication skills in English.
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to cooperation across of levels
- Ability to work independently and gain progress in work is important.
- Technical understanding and interest
- Preferred knowledge of offshore and subsea operations
- Offshore certifications in place.
- Degree in Engineering or relevant experience i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Marine Technology, Technical institute graduate, certificate of apprenticeship with experience.
- Preferred knowledge and experience within engineering, project planning, risk management.
- Experience from project coordination
- Proven ability to deliver results
