Digital Engineering LeaderJob Scope (Purpose)

The Digital Engineering Leader will lead the digital engineering organization and is responsible for the design and development of control system and software products for HMH. This includes activities related to new product development, product enhancement/upgrades, and life cycle management. The role involves efficiently organizing and leading HMH's global resources to meet the needs of product line leaders, sales, DLS, and the global sourcing and supply chain organizations in alignment with HMH's non-negotiables.

In collaboration with the Chief Engineering Office, the Digital Engineering leader will implement a global digital engineering process and strategies that leverage common procedures, tools, and methodologies, ensuring a unified approach for all teams and developing processes that are tuned for software development. This role will also focus on global talent development, fostering a robust pipeline of subject matter experts and leaders aligned with HMH's product and services strategies.

The leader will be responsible for cultivating a collaborative environment by partnering with other functional leaders worldwide, creating a high-performance culture that delivers effective outcomes for the business with a high say/do ratio.
 

Accountabilities
  • Be a role model for quality, integrity, and HSSE culture.
  • Provide clear strategic direction and ensure alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fulfill global digital engineering demand through the creation of resourcing plans and fulfillment strategies, operating budgets, planning tools, and KPI's for your organization.
  • Collaborate with product line leaders to develop technical and execution strategies for development programs, including budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
  • Support the Chief Engineering Office in developing and enhancing engineering practices, including design methodologies and lessons learned. Drive consistency across all HMH teams.
  • Develop and implement talent development processes and cross-training initiatives to build a versatile digital engineering team capable of handling a wide range of products globally.
  • Drive accountability for the development of timely commercial bids and proposals.
  • Define and track appropriate KPI's needed to ensure department deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and with high quality.
  • Support the DLS organization in developing service offerings, resolving fleet issues, and conducting root cause analysis and other necessary activities.
  • Develop and champion initiatives aimed at reducing engineering costs and cycle time while upholding quality.
  • Provide thought leadership for the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled strategies aimed at improving productivity and developing new products/services.
     
Qualifications/requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Software, or Controls Engineering from an accredited university or college. Other technical degrees will be considered.
  • Significant Oil & Gas Industry experience along with proven managerial or equivalent leadership experience and capabilities
  • General control system knowledge
