Job Description
Help shape a more sustainable society. Ramboll's strategy towards 2026 – The Partner for Sustainable Change – sets ambitious goals for how we drive sustainability in everything we do. Do you want to turn that vision into reality? At Ramboll, you'll collaborate closely with engineers and architects, using your legal expertise to create better outcomes for people and the communities they live in. You'll join a global company that has been growing since 1945, working on projects that deliver social, economic, and environmental value.
You will be part of Ramboll's legal organization delivering consistent, high-quality legal support. If you're motivated by impactful work and modern legal operations, this is the place for you.
For this role, we are looking for an experienced legal counsel with deep knowledge of the construction and infrastructure sector and a Master's degree in Law. Are you our new Senior Legal Counsel? Click Apply to submit your application.
Join our Legal team
Ramboll Norway's Legal department is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to strengthen our team. Locally, you will join a small, high-impact team of three legal counsels led by the Head of Legal, supporting all of Ramboll's Norwegian markets. Globally, working with approximately 50 legal counsels across our main jurisdictions, you'll be an integrated part of our legal support function — collaborating with colleagues across jurisdictions, sharing insight through our knowledge platforms, and working with standardized legal tools and processes. Our work is dynamic, fast-paced, and varied—spanning all project types and sizes, from single-discipline assignments to large-scale design-build contracts valued in the billions. You will help align local delivery with Ramboll's global legal standards, systems, and risk frameworks.
We provide project-focused legal advice across:
- Contracts, construction law, and dispute resolution
- Public procurement
- Company law and corporate governance
- International contracting standards and cross-border risk management
A core part of our mission is to act as a proactive legal partner to the Ramboll's Norwegian business across the full project lifecycle—giving you end-to-end responsibility from tender to completion.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate, draft, and review contracts
- Shape contract strategy and provide hands-on legal support throughout project delivery
- Manage and follow up on claims and disputes
- Deliver internal training and upskilling to Ramboll's business
- Collaborate with global Legal colleagues to harmonize approaches and share best practice
- Leverage Ramboll's global legal systems to drive efficiency and consistency
- Contribute to global legal playbooks, templates, and governance standards
- Ensure alignment with Ramboll's compliance frameworks (e.g., data protection, anti-corruption, trade sanctions) in Norwegian projects
Who We're Looking For
- Licensed attorney in Norway (advokatbevilling), with substantial experience either in private practice or as in-house counsel, ideally 6+ years
- Master's degree in Law (LL.M./ Master i Rettsvitenskap.)
- Strong expertise in contract and construction law
- Advantageous: interest and/or experience in corporate governance, company law, public procurement or competition law
- Experience in a global organization is a plus; comfort operating in a matrixed setup is beneficial
- Proven track record of independently handling complex matters, project advisory, or dispute resolution for consultants/architects, clients, and/or contractors—across both public and private sectors
- Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively across disciplines; fluent in Norwegian and English. Working language is both Norwegian and English.
In addition to being strategic and clear in your advice, solid commercial acumen will help you succeed in this role.
Personal qualities
- Ability to build trust in a multidisciplinary and cross-border environment
- Flexible, decisive, and delivery-oriented
- Self-driven with high integrity
- Collaborative, curious, and proactive in knowledge sharing
What We Offer
- Flexible working conditions
- Investment in your learning and development
- Strong, supportive leadership aligned with our leadership principles
- Inspiring colleagues, clients, and projects
- A company where sustainability is at the heart of everything we do
- Long-term thinking and stability as a foundation-owned company
- A global legal community with common systems, playbooks, and knowledge platforms—offering international collaboration and professional growth
