People Manager
Our People Experience team delivers people advisory services across four markets. We have more than 1000 leaders across 250 hotels who use our self-service tools and support services. While we aim to empower our leaders to solve cases on their own, the most complex and high-risk cases make their way to us for hands-on support.
As our People Manager & Country Lead for Norway, you will be our resident authority on Norwegian labor law, union relationships, and leadership advisory. Your mission is to ensure that Strawberry remains a responsible and compliant employer while providing the expert guidance our leaders need to navigate the complexities of the working environment. You'll work side by side with your colleague People Managers on leadership support and do many of the same things, but you'll pay a little extra attention to the translating legislation into practical action, ensuring we stay ahead of changes in the legal landscape and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with central unions.
This is a subject matter expert role with no direct reports. You'll report to the Director of People Advisory and work from our head office in Oslo.
We will ask you to submit a CV. Instead of a cover letter, the application form have some free-text fields.
What you'll be doing
Your work will focus on high-level compliance, labor law expertise, and expert advisory:
- Navigating Labor Law & Compliance: You will stay ahead of legislative changes in Norway, ensuring all routines, documents, and processes are legally compliant. You'll implement necessary updates across the organization and maintain rigorous self-audit routines.
- Driving Union Relations: As the main point of contact for central unions in Norway, you will lead negotiations for collective agreements and salary reviews, and manage coordination and information in the event of a strike.
- Expert Leadership Advisory: You will provide high-level advisory on complex or high-risk cases. This includes planning case strategy, attending employee meetings, and quality-assuring all legal documentation to mitigate risk.
- Building the Toolbox: You will own, develop, and maintain our library of templates, guides, and automated processes. You'll ensure that being a leader at Strawberry is easy and compliant by designing tools with a "customer-first" perspective.
- Empowering Leaders through Training: You'll own and deliver a library of LiveTalks, webinars, and e-learning content. You'll enable the business through workshops and train-the-trainer sessions to ensure leadership confidence across the employee lifecycle.
- Strategic Projects: You'll provide expert advice to cross-functional projects, such as the design of new HR system modules or regional salary review processes, where local legislation knowledge is critical.
We think your profile looks a bit like this
- You have extensive experience within Norwegian employment law and a deep understanding of local legislation, collective agreements, and governmental requirements.
- You have a proven track record of managing union relationships and are comfortable leading central negotiations.
- You don't just follow rules; you enjoy building systems. You have a knack for creating user-friendly, efficient processes that utilize technology and automation where possible.
- You are a skilled communicator who can translate complex legal requirements into inspiring training and actionable advice.
- You use data and case trends to identify gaps in our current toolbox and proactively fix them before they become issues.
- You speak and write fluent Norwegian.
So, why should you work at Strawberry?
- We're a social and friendly team, and you'll have energetic and caring people all around you, and many opportunities to socialize throughout the year.
- We dream big and aim high - we have big ambitions and are not afraid of taking a bit of risk.
- We have great employee benefits - Amazing discounts in our hotels and restaurants, and from external partners.
- As a SuperColleague, you get 4 free hotel stays per year.
- Centrally located offices in Oslo and great lunch
… Just to name a few.
