Department Manager

As Department Manager – Tender Support, you will report to VP Solution Design and lead a team of Specialist Engineers working closely with Global Sales, Global Customer Support, Design and Integration, Ship design and product business units on Kongsberg's most advanced integrated systems opportunities.

We are seeking a dynamic leader who thrive on collaboration across technical and commercial teams. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the development and delivery of proposals for integrated project services, drawing on expertise from multiple business areas. Your ability to translate customer needs into robust technical solutions will be key to delivering high-quality, competitive bids that reflect KONGSBERG's commitment to innovation, reliability, and operational excellence

Responsibilities

· Acting as a proactive door opener, fostering strong collaboration towards KM sales segment business units.

· Leading and developing a high-performing and high paced team ensuring effective collaboration, competency development, and foster a positive social and professional environment.

· Develop and own tender support processes that effectively responds to sales inquiries, prepares project-specific bid documentation for integrated projects and verifies proposed solutions.

· Ensuring technical compliance, risk assessment, and cost accuracy in proposals submitted by your team.

· Acting as a key point of contact for integration services, supporting customer meetings and presentations.

· Acting as Bid BU Lead for "Ship Design and Integration", coordinating and securing business unit input for bids, ensuring clear accountability, alignment, and sign-off throughout the tender process.

Qualifications and experience

· Strong ability to network, communicate, and represent the company confidently with stakeholders at all levels.

· Technical education at BSc or MSc level in Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Technology, or a related technical discipline.

· Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in the maritime or offshore sector, with a strong background in integrated systems, ship design, or marine engineering.

· Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams of senior engineers.

· Proficiency in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written.
