We offer
a blended approach to office working, encouraging you to collaborate and connect in one of our thriving offices. We deliver on what we say, taking the development of our people seriously. We’ll work with you to progress your success plan and provide opportunities to accelerate your career. On top of a competitive salary, our wellbeing days taking you to 25 days leave a year and a health contribution, you’ll also be able to choose from a range of benefits to suit you. We’re an organisation that likes to give back, so you’ll also have two charity days allocated to support a cause that matters to you. About you: As an experienced Senior Front-End JavaScript Engineer, you are passionate about building modern, highly interactive web applications that deliver exceptional user experiences. You combine strong front-end engineering expertise with a deep understanding of how browsers, JavaScript runtimes, networks, and user interfaces work together as a complete system. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges and are comfortable working with large datasets, real-time applications, and data-rich user interfaces. Beyond delivering high-quality code, you contribute to technical direction, engineering best practices, and the continuous improvement of the wider team. An interest in mapping technologies, geospatial data, and highly visual applications would be particularly valuable in this role. Day-to-day, you will:
• Design and develop robust, maintainable front-end applications using Vue.js and TypeScript, delivering scalable and responsive user experiences.
• Build reusable, accessible, and well-tested UI components using Storybook, helping establish consistency and quality across the platform.
• Develop integrations with backend services using REST APIs and WebSockets, supporting real-time, data-driven applications and interactive user experiences.
• Contribute to front-end architecture, performance optimisation, engineering standards, and technical leadership through collaboration, code reviews, and mentoring.
• Your skills and experiences might also include:
• Experience with web mapping technologies such as Mapbox, MapLibre, OpenLayers, or Leaflet would be highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of geospatial concepts including GeoJSON, map layers, routes, clustering, spatial visualisation, and geospatial algorithms would be an advantage. Experience working with large datasets, real-time applications, accessibility standards, design systems, and CI/CD practices is also highly valued. What are we all about?
