We are looking for a self-driven and ambitious Business Controller to join our team in Oslo. You will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic insights to drive business performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Role & Responsibilities:
Maintain and update marketing & distribution budgets of the Opera group.Collaborate with department heads and their teams to update budgets and forecasts.Work closely with department heads to help them drive financial performance and ensure budget alignment and financial discipline.Review and approve various contracts and expenses/invoices.Train new employees on budgeting and invoice/contract approval.Perform internal controls and prepare monthly accruals during the period end close.Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.Assist teams with preparing consolidated financial statements and management reports.Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, controls and policies.Support and collaborate with other departments and key stakeholders on the business side Analyze expenses, return on investments and ad hoc analytics of various projects and initiativesJob Requirements:
Degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration with a Major in Finance/Financial Analytics.Strong analytical and technical skills.Excellent communication skills in English.General understanding of accounting principles.Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.Proven experience as a Business Controller or a comparable role, preferably within a similar industry with multiple sites and international operating environment.Prior experience with Workday, SAP or other ERP systems is desirable.Responsive, proactive, and positive attitude with a willingness to help.What's on offer:
