Animal Technician

We are seeking a motivated Animal Technician to join our team at ARTBIO at our ARTOslo office. As a key member of our In Vivo Biology team, you will support in vivo pharmacology efforts and contribute to the advancement of targeted radioligand therapies.
Responsibilities
- Monitor animal health, to recognize, predict and interpret animal responses.
- Play a key role in selecting animals for studies and refining animal assessment, dosing, and sampling techniques.
- Support all scientific research entities on in vivo pharmacology assessments of radiopharmaceuticals (i.e., disease model testing, PK, PD and toxicology studies, and molecular imaging).
- Perform routine parts of experiments including giving injections, administering medicines, tissue collection and processing, blood, urine, and stool sample analysis.
- Collect and maintain data records.
- Perform routine maintenance of laboratory, instruments, and equipment according to established procedures.
- Manage animal laboratory inventory including managing the ordering of animals and lab supplies.
Qualifications & Education
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma or certified training in animal science, animal technology, animal management, animal care or related field.
- At least 1 year experience working with research animals (rodents) with good technical knowledge on animal handling and multiple routes of drug administration.
- Good understanding of the requirements of Animal Welfare regulations which govern the use of animals in scientific research.
- Certification to work with research animals i.e FELASA/ CAREiN.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in in vivo molecular imaging (added advantage).
- Experience working with open-source radionuclides (added advantage).
