About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Animal Technician to join our team at Work In Biotech in Oslo. As a key member of our In Vivo Biology team, you will play a vital role in supporting in vivo pharmacology efforts and contributing to the advancement of targeted radioligand therapies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor animal health, recognizing, predicting, and interpreting animal responses.
  • Select animals for studies and refine animal assessment, dosing, and sampling techniques.
  • Support scientific research entities on in vivo pharmacology assessments of radiopharmaceuticals (disease model testing, PK, PD, and toxicology studies, and molecular imaging).
  • Perform routine parts of experiments, including giving injections, administering medicines, tissue collection, and processing, blood, urine, and stool sample analysis.
  • Collect and maintain data records.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments according to established procedures.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, ordering animals and lab supplies as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in animal science, animal technology, animal management, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year experience working with research animals (rodents) with good technical knowledge on animal handling and multiple routes of drug administration.
  • Familiarity with Animal Welfare regulations governing animal use in scientific research.
  • Certification to work with research animals (FELASA/CAREiN). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in in vivo molecular imaging (an added advantage). Experience working with open-source radionuclides (added advantage).

Salary & Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is approximately NOK 550,000 - NOK 650,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This includes comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
