DNV, a world-leading risk management and quality assurance company, is seeking an experienced professional to join its Research and Development unit as a Senior Hydrogen Safety Researcher.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled individual to work within our Low Carbon Technology group, which focuses on building knowledge around hydrogen value chains from production to end-use. As a Senior Hydrogen Safety Researcher, you will be responsible for:

  • Safety assessments of hydrogen and hydrogen-derived fuels
  • Exploring new technologies and developing novel approaches for risk assessments
  • Supporting the digital development of DNV's risk assessment services
  • Engaging with clients to understand industry needs and prototype solutions
  • Building international networks externally and internally with key experts in this field
  • Participating in larger public-funded research projects
  • Collaborating with top academic personnel at relevant national and international universities
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemical, Numerical, Mechanical, Process Engineering, or related field)
  • 5-10 years of experience from industry or academia
  • Knowledge and experience within Technical Safety and/or various risk analysis techniques
  • Digital skills, with a strong interest in applying these skills to enhance value and efficiency of services
  • Knowledge of the Energy business and/or green technologies (Hydrogen, synthetic fuels, carbon capture and storage, ...) is an advantage
  • Solution-oriented mindset, with ability to work independently and in teams
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 per year
