Quality Airport Hotel Værnes offers 223 hotel rooms, a restaurant and bar as well as a large and flexible meeting and conference department with fantastic possibilities for conferences, meetings, banquets and events. 

We are now looking for a dedicated Sous Chef who wants to create magical experiences for our guests

Maybe you work as a sous chef today but want new challenges or maybe you work as a head chef that is looking for a change of scenery or you are working as a chef and want to take the next step in your career. 

 

About the job

As a Sous Chef, you will assist our Kitchen Manager and Ass. Kitchen Manager with the responsibilities of the daily operations of the kitchen and take care of planning, purchasing, stock management, staffing and coordinating the preparation of the food to be served when the Kitchen Manager is not present.

You lead and actively participate in the operational work in addition to assisting the Kitchen Manager with the administrative tasks. You report to the hotel's Kitchen Manager.

It is a full time position and and it requires you to be able to work morning shifts, evenings shifts as well as weekends. 

About you

  • You are positive and solution-oriented.
  • You are a team player who likes people.
  • You have the ability to inspire and motivate the people around you. 
  • You are thorough and have an eye for detail.
  • You are structured and have a good sense of order.

Desired qualifications

  • Have at least 3 years' experience from operating commercial kitchens and preferably from hotels.
  • Have a professional certificate as a chef, but long and documented experience can make up for the absence of a professional certificate.
  • Have good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Have good knowledge of quality assurance/HACCP/IK food.
  • Have good knowledge of the Working Environment Act and other agreements.
  • Have a good understanding of kitchen economics, calculations, time management, cost of goods sold, purchasing, stock management and stock counting.
  • Have a good digital understanding and be able to use digital tools actively in everyday life.
  • Have ambitions and a desire to develop yourself further.
