The team with 10 team members located in Oslo and onboard our fleet. Our team is responsible for vessel operation of two CLV vessel and third are to delivered Q 2 2026 ; we handle Vessel Operation and Vessel fleet Management. The workplace is in Oslo and you will be reporting Vessel Operation/Fleet Manager .
GETTING A FLYING START
To succeed in Nexans Vessel Management and Vessel Operation, you have Chartering Manager experience from the marine industries. Responsibilities Conduct day-to-day chartering related activities. Negotiation of Charter Party terms and requirements
Source for optimal shipping solution for the barge & vessels, monitor market rates movement, provide regular evaluation, and market analysis. Key contributor for the P/L or the organisation.
Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market trends and risks effectively. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to make informed decisions under uncertainty. considerations seamlessly into our business strategy and operations.

Chartering manager will support the vessels and projects related topics and will challenge the project and operation on QHSE related matters, initiate improvements and define risk reducing measures. You also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to our department. You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.

YOUR STARTING POINT
The role requires deep knowledge of regional and international shipping markets. Execution of chartering contracts, which include voyage/TC/BB contracts Hands-on Industry standards BIMCO Contract management, including documentation during the complete contract life cycle and familiar with the use of BIMCO SMARTCON The role requires prior experience of developing and negotiating contracts of affreightment and spot contracts. The role requires extensive planning work and communication with stakeholders, while simultaneously focused on details and sequence of activities – it can stretch the person’s time and focus. Ability to prioritize work and response basis time sensitivity activities & being work efficient is crucial. Ability to be assertive when coordinating with stakeholders, is equally important - explain and rationalise with facts. Fast learner, quick thinker and ‘out of the box’ can help reach resolutions to issues with win-win outcome.Time management.
Some business-related travel will be required occasionally – brokers, shipowners, customers and suppliers. Due to operational requirements, the post holder will need to be contactable always and may have periods of time where longer or unconventional working hours may be required. Previous industry or specifically relevant experience (applied to Key Accountabilities) will be essentialRequirements:
Degree in Maritime or related disciplines. Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity role. Understanding of international maritime regulations and commercial shipping practices.
Experience in areas involving supply chain planning, marine logistics activities and vessel chartering.
