React Native Developer – Fully European Remote, React Native, Expo, REST APIs

As the React Native developer, you will add technical expertise to an established SaaS-based product company that is the leader in its industry.

You will help drive the future of their mobile application first and foremost whilst being part of a leading renewable energy business. Their platform supports the fight against climate change and as such their mobile app is already well-architected and built using the latest versions of React Native and Expo.

You'll be working in a cross-functional team where autonomy, ownership, and collaboration drive everything they do. You will shape the product, improve the tech, and solve complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the mobile app using React Native (Expo), ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute beyond mobile with opportunities to work on Vue3, and Angular as well as maybe some backend work in Java and Node.js.
  • Optimize and enhance the app's user experience, ensuring smooth animations, interactions, and performance.
  • Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps, ensuring seamless deployments to iOS and Android.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to define API contracts.
  • Optimize communication between mobile and server.
  • Maintain best practices in mobile security, performance, and testing.

Experience

  • Experience in React Native & Expo (latest versions).
  • Proven track record of shipping mobile applications to production (Google Play, App Store).
  • A solid understanding of the mobile development lifecycle, including testing, performance optimization, and debugging.
  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand, React Context API).
  • Bonus: Experience in backend development (Java/Spring Boot, Node.js) or web frontend (Vue3, Angular).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, where priorities shift.
