Job Description
The Medical Advisor/Medical Advisor Lead - Nordics holds primary responsibility within the countries for the development and execution of the Women's health Medical Affairs Plan under the guidance and supervision of the Cluster Medical Director. The therapeutic area will primarily regard Women's health and will also include support of other therapeutic areas including the cardiovascular field. Additionally, the Medical Advisor/Medical Advisor Lead provides Medical Affairs therapeutic area support through engaging with Scientific Leaders (SLs) / Key Decision Makers (KDMs), driving scientific initiatives, and supporting the field force. The Medical Advisor/Medical Lead reports to the Cluster Medical Director.
Responsibilities
Scientific and Technical Leadership
- Ensures execution of agreed medical tactics and leverages best practices.
- Communicates scientific therapy needs credibly, appropriately, and effectively across a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Builds trust with the external scientific community via peer-to-peer scientific exchange, research and educational collaborations, interactions with scientific societies and health organizations, publications, etc.
- Provides therapeutic/functional training to assigned teams and affiliate functions.
- Develops and helps execute country medical educational programs and symposia.
- Leads Expert Input Forums in line with strategy.
- Participates in and contributes significantly to professional organizations, academic, or regulatory working teams.
- Provides scientific inputs for digital initiatives.
Medical Strategy and Therapy Leadership
- Translates Global Medical Strategies into research, data analysis, scientific communication, educational, and other tactics and solutions that improve patient outcomes and enhance access in the countries.
- Ensures effective communication and collaboration between field and Medical through providing scientific and medical support to the Commercial team.
- Evaluates accuracy of promotional materials.
- Provides Medical Affairs therapeutic area support through engaging with SLs/KDMs, driving scientific initiatives, and supporting the field force.
- Collects, analyzes, and communicates actionable insights at the country level.
- Provides scientific inputs for digital initiatives.
- Successfully collaborates, provides scientific inputs, and leads resolution of Regulatory queries/issues.
- Supports execution of and quickly adapts tactical plans to business realities in country.
- Acts with ethics and integrity; provides non-promotional, balanced, reliable, and scientific information.
- Supports therapy training content for the Sales team.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking, specifically related to asset value proposition, and clinical and value evidence.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
- MD, PhD in health sciences, Pharm D or equivalent.
- Minimum two years experience as Medical Advisor or equivalent.
- Experience of relevant pharmaceutical industry guidelines (MA Code of Conduct), regulatory/reimbursement framework, and clinical research guidelines.
- Fluent in at least one of the Nordic languages, as well as English.
- Scientific knowledge and experience within the women's health area is preferred.
- Leadership experience.
- Strategic thinking.
