About You:

Your focus will be on designing, describing, and managing tech engineering to help customers migrate to Microsoft Fabric architecture and roll out the various components.

Your Key Result Areas:

  1. Responsible for understanding current solution architecture on customer existing and proposed goals (technology, economic, and functional) of migrating to Microsoft Fabric.
  2. Collaborating with Microsoft Alliance and other project teams to understand best practices.
  3. Executing the use cases with Cognizant and client developers' current teams – taking overall architectural responsibility and alongside tasks/use cases for individual contribution, and in some cases as Team Lead.

About the Client and the Job Description

You will be working for any of our large corporates in Oslo, primarily on Microsoft Azure. Some of them have already piloted Microsoft Fabric, and some are commencing the journey. While the actual job description varies client to client, your role would include:

  1. As-is evaluation of current Microsoft and Azure data infrastructure.
  2. Working with the Microsoft team to create a roadmap for Fabric.
  3. Shortlisting use cases based on a business technology heat map.
  4. Identifying pilot projects for demonstrating the technical and business functionality of Fabric - initial use cases will be within the Azure environment.
  5. Executing the pilot projects as a senior developer along with client/Cognizant teams - with overall architectural responsibility - in some cases playing the role as Team Lead.

Required & Nice to Have Skills:

Must Haves:

  • Production-grade experience as a Senior Developer in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, ADF / Power BI (at least one of them).
  • While the role is for an architect cum Senior Developer, we welcome Senior Developers who have partially played the role of architects as per the 'Nice to Have/Your chance to grow' section below.

Nice to Have/Your Chance to Grow:

  • Conceptual understanding of the data architecture landscape, how it has evolved from data warehouse to data lake to data lake house, experience of implementing them in any platform (on-premise or cloud).
  • Experience in other Data Engineering tools, experience in Data Architecture in other platforms especially Snowflake.
  • Experience in handling data movement in batch and streaming.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate application deployment processes.
  • Industry understanding of Manufacturing, Logistics, Energy & Utilities.
  • Norwegian skills B1 or above.
