WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

Do you want to be our next Legal Counsel and be a part of our G&T Legal & Contracts Affairs Department? We are looking for a business-minded and self-motivated Legal Counsel to join our team and to provide legal assistance and support to a broad range of internal clients. You will provide legal advice and assistance to the multidisciplinary teams of G&T in charge of the prospection, development, construction and maintenance of power cable systems for Interconnectors and offshore Wind projects. The workplace is in Oslo and you will be reporting to the Legal Director.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

1. Support G&T Sales & Tendering team by writing, reviewing, commenting and negotiating a wide range of contracts (letters of intent; "MOU"; preferred supplier agreements; partnership agreements; EPCI contracts; O&M agreements) in order to properly manage risks and comply with the internal contracting principles and guidelines. You will also draft and negotiate appropriate consortium and subcontracts.
2. Participate in final review of all contractual and commercial documents prior to contract signature.
3. Assist hand-over to Project team for execution.
4. Support the G&T Contract Management function and G&T Project Execution teams by giving legal advice on all necessary matters related to the execution of the contracts, including but not limited to warranties, financial securities, claims and litigations.
5. Support in the incorporation and establishments of project companies and affiliates.
6. Follow the disputes & litigation associated with the portfolio of projects.
7. Support the G&T Purchasing Department for the establishment and negotiation of complex subcontracts and strategic procurements.
8. Support the G&T R&D activity by drafting and negotiating collaboration / development agreements.
9. Promote best practice and contractual and legal culture, advise internal clients from every team on relevant legal issues and risks, agreement structures, approval processes, company policies and procedures.
10. Create and update agreement templates and policies.
11. Implementation and monitoring of the Compliance policies of the Group (anti-bribery, conflict of interest, ethic, competition, anti-trust, GDPR, …) in collaboration with the Group Compliance Officer.
12. Perform regular trainings internally on compliance & risk management.
13. Coordinate and supervise the work of the external law firms if and when necessary.

YOUR STARTING POINTS WHEN YOU JOIN

1. Postgraduate degree in business law with ideally a double qualification and experience (Civil and Common Law), or at least a good Common Law knowledge.
2. Minimum 5 years' experience in a law firm and/or as Inhouse with knowledge of industrial / infrastructure / renewable projects.
3. Experience in cross-border project management desirable, and comfortable working within a multicultural environment.
4. Experience in negotiating and drafting a wide variety of commercial contracts, including O&M contracts and complex turnkey EPCI projects in an international environment. Being familiar with the major construction contract forms including FIDIC, NS, NF, NEC, … will be a plus.
5. Sound business judgment with the ability to balance legal and business priorities, break down complex legal problems, and articulate risks to partners in the business.
6. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, ability to adapt to changing priorities.
7. Customer orientation with excellent collaboration skills.
8. Willingness to take on tasks both big and small.
9. Pragmatic thinker, and ability to give succinct legal advice, excellent at building strong relationships.
10. Available for occasional travel.
11. Excellent communication skills in English (working language). Only CVs in English will be assessed.
