What does the job involve?Work on diverse tasks within biostratigraphy towards both Oil and Gas exploration/production and Low Carbon business needs on Norwegian Continental Shelf as well as other locations worldwide.
What will my tasks be?Within this position, your key tasks will be to:
Contribute to pre-well input to sample program and be responsible for correct procurement documentation for external services related to biostratigraphy analyses.
Contribute to project management and technical interpretation of biostratigraphic data for operated wells and regional studies.
Manage communication with external contractors and internal Equinor asset staff for planning, execution and delivery.
Take an active part in integration with other subsurface disciplines, presenting and reporting both internally and externally (to assets, partners and NPD).
Facilitate biostratigraphic services and tasks at wellsite to support drilling operations.
Take an active role in improvement projects, digitalisation initiatives and data management.
The Biostratigraphy group is active and dynamic with varying tasks and project opportunities across Equinor's global portfolio. This is a highly exciting time for biostratigraphy during which digitalisation and analytics are having a huge impact in how we work, visualise and integrate our data with other disciplines.
We are looking for new Specialist team members to join our Subsurface division. We are seeking in background and experience focusing on delivering technical services within Biostratigraphy towards the entire value chain of Equinor.

MSc or PhD education with 3+ years relevant experience within industrial biostratigraphy working with both Micropalaeontology and/or Palynology with experience from Norwegian Continental Shelf as well as other core areas where Equinor operate.
Experience from any aged material is relevant; however, the Cenozoic, Cretaceous and Jurassic are the main focus intervals.
Data science capability and digital skills are an advantage.
Trained professional with an agile business-oriented mindset.
Ability to work independently, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
A curious mindset demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to increase own knowledge and expertise within the biostratigraphy competence area.
Ability to live by Equinor's safety and security expectations.
Fluency in English both verbal and written.
