As a Senior Manager for Experience Design, in Autodesk Forma, you will discover how we can support a completely new creative process for architects and urban developers. This means helping our users create 3D models by using data-driven insights to make smart design decisions in an easy-to-use and modern web application. You will work closely with product teams in Oslo, Norway, and collaborate closely with designers and product teams in the US and Canada.

As a Senior Manager for Experience Design, you will:

  1. Manage a team of Experience Designers, Visual Designers and Content Designers across Norway and Eastern US & Canada.
  2. Drive team growth through recruitment and by building a center of excellence within your experience design team to provide the organization with what is needed to deliver an exceptional product experience.
  3. Work with your team and other lead designers, including experience research leads, to plan and execute projects and initiatives.
  4. Facilitate a process for your team that ensures that customer feedback is collected and analyzed through our continuous product deployment process.
  5. Plan and support the growth and development of the team and its team members through mentoring and building effective working relationships.
  6. Work closely with the leader and leadership team for Experience Design within your product line group.

As a Sr. Principal Experience Designer, you will:

  1. Drive and oversee the design process in team projects, ensuring a human-centered approach.
  2. Gather, use and synthesize industry data and research, identify gaps, and take proactive measures to inform own design process and others.
  3. Translate complex user needs into design concepts in close collaboration with both local and global product teams.
  4. Utilize expert product/service/platform knowledge to shape the design and product strategy.
  5. Understand the business and competitive landscape to promote customer needs that align with business objectives.
  6. Generate positive outcomes and innovations for our customers by leading teams to explore emerging patterns.

Qualifications

  1. 10+ years working as an experience designer and 5+ years with people management.
  2. Brings an existing toolbox for how to support and grow a team of user experience professionals.
  3. Excellent facilitation skills using design thinking principles.
  4. Deep knowledge of how to build experiences for SaaS products in a software company.
  5. Master's Degree in a Design related discipline like Human Centered Design, Industrial Design, or similar.

Preferred qualifications

  1. Experience working at an enterprise software company that is building SaaS products.
  2. Interest in architecture and urban design.
