Role Description

As the Head of Engineering at Dintero, you will be a key leader in the organization, overseeing the development and delivery of our core payment infrastructure. You will be responsible for building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, driving technical strategy, and ensuring that Dintero's solutions remain innovative, reliable, and secure.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Support, Sales, Operations and external partners, to create a seamless experience for our customers. You will have the opportunity to shape the technical direction of the company while playing a pivotal role in the growth and success of Dintero's products.

Key Responsibility:

  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Define the engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with Dintero's business goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure engineering excellence across the organization.
  • Technical Excellence:
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable payment solutions.
    • Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, architecture, and infrastructure.
    • Lead the design and implementation of complex systems that handle large volumes of transactions.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies in fintech and payments.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and innovation within the engineering team.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and cost optimization.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with the Product team to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and customer needs.
    • Communicate technical concepts and progress effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Maintain a transparent engineering process and keep all relevant parties informed about progress, risks, and roadblocks.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Ensure that Dintero's payment solutions meet the highest security standards and comply with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., PSD2, GDPR).
    • Collaborate with security teams to implement and monitor security protocols across all platforms.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Proven experience (5+ years) in leading engineering teams, preferably within the fintech, payments, or SaaS industry.
    • Strong technical background with expertise in scalable, distributed systems and cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, etc.).
    • Experience with payment gateway technologies, transaction processing, and PCI DSS compliance is a significant advantage.
    • Track record of successfully delivering high-impact products in an agile development environment.
  • Leadership:
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse and growing team.
    • Experience in building, scaling, and mentoring engineering teams, with a focus on developing individual talent.
    • Excellent decision-making abilities, with a pragmatic and results-driven approach.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Understand modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js, etc.).
    • Familiarity with microservices architecture, APIs, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Solid understanding of database design, data modeling, and performance optimization.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Proficient in managing cross-functional projects and working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Education:
    • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required with equivalent experience.
