Our Opening and Your Responsibilities Mettler-Toledo Cargoscan AS is a world leader in developing and manufacturing dimensioning equipment and automatic data capture solutions for the Transport and Logistics Industry. We design, develop and manufacture volume measurement instruments that scan three-dimensional items like small parcels on conveyor belts, freight on pallets, etc. The instruments are based on visible light laser time-of-flight scanners and represent the 'gold standard' in our industry. This role will be located in Oslo, Norway and report to the Head of the R&D department. In this role, you will research, design and develop programs for 3D measurement instruments. Participate in requirements analysis, develop system architectures, and develop signal and image processing technology systems. Your responsibilities will include design, development, and analysis of systems and algorithms for the processing of information from range and image sensors.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and optimize algorithms for LiDAR data processing, including point cloud filtering, segmentation, and feature extraction.
  2. Implement and integrate LiDAR image processing techniques, such as image registration, stitching, and 3D reconstruction.
  3. Lead the implementation and integration of state-of-the-art LiDAR image processing techniques, such as image registration, stitching, and 3D reconstruction.
  4. Develop programs for data reduction chain, optimizing measurement accuracy and geometrical calibration.
  5. Responsible for specification, development, testing, and documentation of software.
What You Need to Succeed Qualifications:
  1. Proficiency in programming languages C / C++ for real-time hardware near embedded programming under tight constraints on computing power and memory footprint.
  2. Familiar with signal processing principles, data acquisition, and processing tools.
  3. Analysis of real-time data and evaluation of data reduction methods.
  4. Design of mathematical models of real-world systems and experience with fitting model parameters.
  5. Minimum 3 years of recent C/C++ programming experience.
  6. Bachelor/Master in one of the areas of Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Measurement Technology, or equivalent.
  7. Fluent English communication skills.
