About the role

The Project Manager team is part of Cognite's Global Customer Success (GCS). GCS has offices in Austin, Houston, Oslo, Tokyo, and Bengaluru, uniting Project Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Solution Architects. Specializing in Oil and Gas, Power, and Manufacturing, we deliver scalable projects with our flagship product, CDF, unlocking hidden data to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability in heavy asset industries. This role reports to the EMEA (Oslo) office, supporting projects in MENA and SEA.

A typical day in the life of a Project Manager in Cognite:

As a Project Manager at Cognite, you will spearhead teams driving our customers' digital transformations, liberating and maximizing the value of their data. In this role, initiative and creative problem-solving are key. You will lead projects, some co-lead or lead by partners while collaborating with Data Scientists, Solution Architects, and Domain Experts to design, develop, and operationalize digital solutions across various industries.

You will serve as a crucial link between customers and Cognite's engineering and product management teams; your ability to communicate effectively, solve complex problems, and comprehend intricate technology is paramount. You will be coordinating execution, communicating with senior management on status, risks, changes, and managing the budget.

We believe most of these should match your experience:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Math, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in SaaS project management or software at a global scale.
  • Familiarity with project management tools: JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Trello, and MIRO (Design thinking workshops), preferably within the oil and gas or manufacturing domain.
  • Passion for driving change and creating success for customers, with multiple stakeholders and partners involved.
  • Proven track record of effectively identifying and mitigating project risks, engaging stakeholders at various levels, and implementing robust governance frameworks to ensure project success and compliance.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, build strong teams, and cultivate customer and partner relationships.
  • Capability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous working environment, yet be able to add structure to our deliveries.
  • Familiarity with IoT, cloud solutions, or machine learning models is a plus.
  • Ability to navigate stakeholder landscapes.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Previous experience supporting Machine Learning projects and exposure to AI/ML Applications is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group leadership and executive presentations.
