WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

The Project Purchasing team is a diverse and multicultural team with team members located in Norway, France, USA, and UK. The team is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing-related activities respecting Nexans purchasing procedures throughout the lifetime of the tenders and projects.

The Mediterranean Team is a unit within the Project Purchasing team specifically supporting projects with final client delivery within the Mediterranean area. The Team Lead is responsible for managing a team of Purchasers and Purchasing Managers, including the development of the team, allocating purchasing resources to G&T projects and tasks across projects, and ensuring high quality and efficient execution.

The workplace is in Oslo, Norway, and you will be reporting to the Head of Project Purchasing.

GETTING A FLYING START

To get a flying start as Purchaser, you should have at least a Master's degree in engineering, business, or supply chain, and 10 years of project purchasing work experience in the oil, gas, offshore, onshore, maritime, or construction sectors.

You are a team player, organized, have the ability to multitask, are an effective communicator, and efficient at executing tasks.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

  1. Be a mentor to and develop the competence of your team of project and tender purchasing managers.
  2. Contribute and ensure that the Purchasing Strategy is executed within your portfolio of projects.
  3. Participate in Purchasing activities for dedicated project(s) and tender(s) on large subcontracts.
  4. Ensure your team manages the entire purchasing process (preparation of inquiries, evaluation of offers, contract negotiations, contract award, follow-up of contract and deliveries, invoicing as well as Supplier Relationship Management) according to Nexans Purchasing (including Best Practices) and Project Model.
  5. Be responsible for the delivery according to the KPIs of the team.
  6. Promote good collaboration within the team and across the entire purchasing project organizations.
  7. Boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.

YOUR STARTING POINT

  1. Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain.
  2. Minimum 10 years of experience in Procurement / Category Management / Supply Chain with proven records of fruitful negotiations or commercial achievements. Project purchasing experience is preferred.
  3. Extensive experience from international negotiations.
  4. Experience from any of the following industries: oil, gas, offshore, onshore, maritime, construction.
  5. Practical experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  6. Team player / Organized / Ability to coordinate many stakeholders and keep good track of discussions.
  7. Proactive, efficient, and able to achieve results.
  8. High working capacity and ability to multitask.
  9. Well-structured and executing tasks in an orderly and systematic manner.
  10. Good interpersonal communication skills.
  11. Demonstrates behaviors in line with Nexans' values: Pioneer, Dedicated, United.
