Position: Geotechnical Laboratory Supervisor
Location: Bergen, Norway
Start : ASAP
Duration: 3 years

We are currently searching for a Geotechnical Laboratory Supervisor to join a project in Norway. The focus of this role is to support the geotechnical engineering department by conducting tests on soil and rock samples in a laboratory setting.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Sample Preparation: receive, log, and label soil and rock samples collected from construction sites, prepare samples for testing by following established procedures, including drying, sieving, and milling as necessary to ensure consistency and accuracy of test results.
2. Geotechnical Testing: perform a variety of geotechnical tests on soil and rock samples, record test data, observations, and relevant parameters accurately and legibly in laboratory notebooks or electronic databases, analyze test results, interpret findings, and prepare summary reports documenting test procedures, results, and conclusions.
3. Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment regularly to meet industry standards and accreditation requirements, maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, including proper storage and disposal of samples and chemicals, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Bachelor's Degree in Geology or Geotechnical Engineering

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to adhere to standardized testing protocols and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of geotechnical testing methods, equipment, and procedures typically used in soil and rock mechanics.
• A Bachelor's degree in Geological Sciences and/or Civil Engineering is a plus.
• A driving license (Category B) is required.
• Proficiency level of English is mandatory.
