Senior Software Engineer – AI and Machine Learning

Are you passionate about machine learning and AI? Six robotics are seeking experienced machine learning engineers to join our team of experienced developers. We are a cutting-edge tech startup specializing in autonomous drone systems for ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance). Our team operates at the intersection of AI, hardware, and robotics, developing systems that push the boundaries of real-time decision-making and edge computing. We are collaborating with Norwegian research institutes.
About the roleWe are seeking an AI Engineer to drive the development and deployment of advanced neural networks for our autonomous drones. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with deep neural networks, hardware accelerators, and deploying models in production environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize neural networks for real-time edge inference on autonomous drones.
- Implement and fine-tune architectures such as YOLO, SuperPoint, and custom models for ISR tasks.
- Integrate AI models into drone platforms, ensuring efficient use of hardware accelerators.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize inference performance and latency.
- Contribute to mission-critical AI pipelines, enhancing object detection, tracking, and navigation.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Vision, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in deep neural networks and machine learning.
- Experience deploying neural networks in production settings, particularly on embedded hardware.
- Strong background in edge inference, hardware accelerators (e.g., Jetson Orin), and model optimization.
- Solid programming skills in Python and C++.
- Able to work on premise in Oslo, Norway (or willingness to relocate; we welcome applicants looking to move to Norway).
- Eligible for security clearance.
- Experience in multi-agent systems or swarming behaviors.
- Knowledge of communication protocols for drone swarms.
- Familiarity with ISR applications and autonomous drone technologies is a plus.
