About the Role

As a Joint Venture Accountant, you will work in our Accounting and Tax department in Norway. Your primary responsibilities will include making entries into our accounting system, reconciliations, preparing financial statements, and assisting with tax calculations.

You will report directly to our Team Leader Accounting and Tax and be part of a team that provides efficient and qualitative service to clients.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Making accurate and timely entries into our accounting system in accordance with local regulations.
  2. Reconciling various accounts and ensuring their accuracy.
  3. Preparing calculations connected with accounting for financial instruments, leasing, provisions, and recognizing costs to be capitalized.
  4. Assisting in the preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements for statutory purposes.
  5. Assisting in the preparation of group reporting in the format required by the client.
  6. Assisting in the preparation of tax calculations/returns.
  7. Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of journal vouchers, payroll records, sales, and purchase ledgers.
  8. Verifying approval on all invoices/check requests.
  9. Consulting with Senior Accountants on difficult and non-standard accounting issues.
  10. Identifying out-of-scope services and providing respective information to Senior Accountants.

Requirements
  1. Experience working in several accounting areas, including oil and gas accounting.
  2. Ability to prioritize client work and learn new things daily.
  3. Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  4. Full proficiency in English and Norwegian.
