About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Stavanger, Norway. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing downhole completion tools for the oil and gas industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct conceptualization, design, prototype, and qualification testing of new products
  • Participate in concept and design reviews to ensure product meets requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and manufacturing, to ensure successful product launches
  • Estimate budget and scope of projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Prepare product reports and documentation to support product development and maintenance
  • Perform sustaining work and product improvement on existing product portfolio
  • Identify and qualify alternative electronic components according to product specifications
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing units and the supply chain
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in design of downhole oilfield equipment
  • Experience with new product development and developing electromechanical tools, preferably within design of downhole oilfield equipment
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and working knowledge of FEA and supportive hand calculation
Additional Requirements for Mechatronics Engineer
  • Experience with Electronic Hardware Design (Altium Designer)
  • Experience with Micro-controller (Microchip Technology) and embedded programming (Embedded C, C#, Matlab)
  • Experience with version control (Git)
  • Familiarity with IDE (Microsoft Visual Studio)
