The role of the PhD candidate will be to investigate the dynamics of floating wind turbines, focusing on the effects of elasticity in the platform structure. The project aims to combine experimental methods with numerical approaches to better understand these complex systems. Strong theoretical background in structural dynamics and programming skills in MATLAB or similar are required.

Job Description
  • Conduct research in hydrodynamic loads and fatigue analysis of floating wind turbines.
  • Develop advanced numerical models to simulate the behavior of these complex systems.
  • Analyze data and assess different perspectives to draw well-founded conclusions.

A strong motivation for the subject and excellent written and oral English language skills are essential for this position. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in marine technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or equivalent. Background and interest in marine hydrodynamics/marine structures are also preferred.
