Researcher Position in Marine Hydrodynamics
5 days ago
This position focuses on the development of a rational, hybrid CFD solver for marine engineering applications. The role of CFD has a large potential in this field but has relatively modest use due to computational time issues.
The project involves incorporating higher-order free-surface conditions into the existing method, enabling computation of slowly varying wave loads and flow separation effects. This requires a strong theoretical background in mathematics and physics, as well as programming skills in languages like MATLAB or Python.
The PhD candidate will work independently, contributing to the SFI BLUES research activities and participating in international conferences. A public list of applicants is prepared after the application deadline, and you can request exemption from entry on the list if necessary.
