About The RoleThe Senior Accountant will manage a portfolio of clients and must operate autonomously within full compliance of all legal, accounting and general tax requirements. The clients portfolio includes Global and local clients. This responsibility includes regular accounting, financial statements and corporate income tax calculation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee financial service delivery and client onboarding.
- Uphold client service quality.
- Build the Financial Management service line and offer service to current and new clients.
- Handle client inquiries regarding financial questions, including acquisitions, decommissions, and mergers.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for clients and provide information within agreed deadlines.
- Ensure statutory accounting compliance and accounting reporting as necessary.
- Liaise with advisors, intermediaries, and client offices in the setup, structuring, and ongoing maintenance of client entities and accounting models.
- Drive the implementation and execution of performance management reviews.
- Own the capacity planning part of workforce planning.
- Understand the financial implications of decisions.
- Generate ideas for improvement based on past experience.
- Identify and promote opportunities to share knowledge.
- Strive for high standards of delivery to clients.
- Delegate work across the team as appropriate.
- Share knowledge to ensure targets are met.
- Communicate (verbally and through written work) information clearly and concisely.
- Manage stakeholders' expectations regarding delivery, escalating concerns as appropriate.
- Handle issues, provide flexible options and recommendations, escalating as appropriate.
- Understand and apply control and risk governance frameworks consistently.
- Master's degree in a relevant field and a professional qualification; Master's degree in Economics, Accounting, or Auditing.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Long experience can compensate for education requirements.
- Expertise in all MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); other software packages as appropriate.
- Fluent in both written and spoken Norwegian and English.
- Typically manage a team of individuals, supporting the development of junior team members through objective setting and constructive feedback.
- Proactively build a high-performing, collaborative team.
- Understand what motivates individuals and use this awareness to drive individual and team performance.
- Build and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Be mindful of cultural differences across a diverse organization.
