About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Engineer to join our team at CBRE. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems in assigned facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate and Maintain Equipment: Ensure that equipment is being maintained in a safe and efficient manner, minimizing downtime through proactive performance testing and scheduled maintenance.
  2. Inspect and Repair Systems: Inspect building HVAC and plumbing systems to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by clients.
  3. Perform Repairs and Maintenance: Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance, and complete maintenance and repair records as required.
  4. Respond to Emergencies: Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  5. Develop Maintenance Schedules: Review historical maintenance records to develop proactive inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  6. Operate Company Vehicle: Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and follow prescribed routines to service locations in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of seven years experience as a certified refrigerant technician. Completion of a formal apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver's license required. Certification in two or more of the following: Electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair, as well as CFC Certification.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to clients.
  • Financial Knowledge: Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles and to understand operating budgets. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents, solve problems involving several options in situations, and requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
