An exciting opportunity has arisen within a leading food manufacturing company to join a small finance team as an Assistant Accountant.

The Role

As the Assistant Accountant, you will have a confident and helpful attitude with all departments within the company. You should have excellent communication skills, good Excel knowledge, and a good understanding of accounting principles.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting and analysis of inter-company transactions
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and accurate financial record-keeping
  • Accruals and pre-payment journal management
  • Coding of non-PO related invoices and review of invoice status
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and weekly cash forecasting
  • Review of goods received, not invoiced and compilation of data for external bodies
  • Intrastat and payment practices reporting
  • Creation and upkeep of Bill of Materials
  • Ad-hoc duties required by the team

Key Requirements

  • Qualified by experience or part qualified with ACCA, CIMA, or AAT
  • At least 2 – 3 years' experience within a similar role
  • Manufacturing background advantageous but not essential
  • Good Excel and communication skills
  • Experience of using an ERP system, e.g., SAP/M3
