Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Engineer to join our team as an Engine Officer on a modern cruise vessel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe management of engine room operations and maintenance, ensuring the vessel's propulsion and auxiliary systems are functioning efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise engine room operations, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs to ensure the vessel's engines and auxiliary systems are in good working order.
  • Monitor and control fuel consumption, reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless vessel operations.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve engine room efficiency and safety.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience as an Engine Officer on a modern cruise vessel.
  • Certificate of Competency (COC) Engine Officer, as required by STCW 95 as amended.
  • Good knowledge of maritime rules and regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISM.
  • Experience with diesel electric propulsion and automation systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Fluent command of English language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead a team.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience sailing under the Norwegian International Ship Register (NIS) flag.
  • Experience with vessels equipped with scrubbers.
  • Knowledge of BASSNET (PMS and inventory management system).
  • USCG and USPH knowledge.
  • Experience with new builds and/or site teams or project work.
  • Fluent command of a Scandinavian language.
