About the Project

This PhD research project aims to investigate the effects of vitamin D on the nutrition, health, and welfare of Atlantic salmon. The project will focus on understanding the impact of vitamin D supplementation on mineral nutrition, welfare, bone, and skin health.

The successful candidate will design and conduct nutritional trials to test the effects of vitamin D on salmon nutrition and health. The data collected will be analyzed using statistical software, including R programming, to identify trends and patterns.

The findings from this research will contribute to the development of innovative solutions for improving fish health and welfare. The project will also provide opportunities for collaboration with industry partners to advance sustainable aquaculture practices.

Requirements
  • MSc degree in Aquaculture, Applied Nutrition and Health, or equivalent fields.
  • Strong background in fish nutrition, especially micronutrient nutrition.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience with statistical analysis.
  • Practical experience in cell work and knowledge of R programming.
