Bergen, Vestland, Norway University of Bergen Full time
About the Project

The University of Bergen invites applications for a PhD research fellowship in geodynamics and surface processes. This project aims to understand the 3D response of active rift evolution to surface processes, focusing on the Corinth Rift system, Greece.

Our research will employ high-resolution data and coupled 3D forward tectonic surface process models to investigate the dynamics of rift fault growth, linkage, and stratigraphic architecture. We will also explore how climate-driven erosional efficiency affects the evolving extensional fault network.

About the Job

This is a 3-year full-time position, with the possibility of a 4th year consisting of 25% compulsory work. The successful candidate will be enrolled in an approved educational program for a PhD degree within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

We offer a salary as PhD research fellow (code 1017) in the state salary scale, which constitutes a gross annual salary of NOK 540,500 (approximately $63,400 USD). Further increases in salary are made according to length of service in the position.
