Mitigrate is a ClimateTech and InsurTech SaaS startup dedicated to guiding preventive measures for reducing climate risks in real estate through automated analyses. Our platform leverages high-resolution satellite imagery, machine learning, and optimization algorithms to predict and prioritize over 40 climate-positive measures for mitigating risks.

We serve insurance companies, banks, and municipalities, with our work spanning individual assets and large property portfolios. Recognized as one of Europe's most innovative InsurTech startups, Mitigrate has been part of the Lloyd's Lab accelerator in London and secured a Horizon EU project for insurance product innovation.

Job Overview

This role plays a pivotal part in managing, processing, and analyzing geospatial data to support Mitigrate's mission of reducing climate risks. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will develop scalable data pipelines, integrate APIs, and contribute to the company's remote sensing and geospatial analysis capabilities.

Main ResponsibilitiesData Pipeline Development
  • Design and implement robust pipelines to process large-scale geospatial datasets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in geospatial data workflows.
Integration and Automation
  • Build and maintain APIs for seamless data integration with front-end systems and third-party platforms.
  • Implement and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform to support geospatial processes.
Collaboration and Quality Assurance
  • Work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to gather and refine requirements for geospatial projects.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code, prioritizing best practices such as code reviews and testing.
Required QualificationsCore Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience in geospatial data engineering or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in Python and libraries like Xarray, Geopandas, and rasterio.
  • Strong understanding of geospatial data formats and processing techniques.
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and Terraform.
