Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Theoretical Physics

We are seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the Department of Physics at the University of Oslo.

The successful candidate will work on a three-year research project focused on quantum field theory, quantum optics, and quantum information.

Within this framework, duties may be assigned to the postdoctoral fellow. Starting date no later than October 1, 2025.

It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to complete the project in the course of the period of employment.

The postdoctoral research fellow will contribute to the development of a framework for describing experiments where the information transfer is manifestly causal.

Additionally, the fellow will explore the effects of localized, causal interactions on particle states.

The research project is funded by the Research Council of Norway (2025-2029) and is part of the Section for Theoretical Physics at the Department of Physics.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition to be among Europe's leading communities for research, education, and innovation.

Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with this, and expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials.
