Job Responsibilities

Conduct thorough and accurate classification surveys of ships in service, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Survey and inspect various maritime equipment, machinery, and cargo-handling equipment to ensure they meet safety and performance requirements.

Act as a liaison between clients and regulatory bodies, handling surveys and certification on behalf of public and governmental authorities.

Develop and maintain effective communication and collaboration with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

Contribute to the growth and development of RINA's classification services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements.

Produce high-quality, concise, and accurate reports that meet client and regulatory requirements.

Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Training, Qualifications, and Professional Experience

Possess a formal qualification in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering, with a strong understanding of ship design, construction, and operation.

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a related field, including class surveyor, owner superintendent, shipyard quality control inspector, or Chief Engineer.

Previous experience as a surveyor of Classification Societies is highly advantageous.

Hold practical and theoretical knowledge of hull, machinery, materials, equipment, and safety systems of ships.

Be physically able to work in confined spaces, hazardous atmospheres, extreme temperatures, and weather conditions.

Be willing to travel frequently to meet client needs and conduct surveys.

Fluently speak and write in Norwegian and English languages, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
