Role Overview

We are in search of an experienced Power Trading Strategist to drive value through Proprietary Trading in the Continental European Power markets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of power fundamentals and a keen ability to translate analytical insights into actionable trading strategies. The role demands resilience and the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment.

This is a full-time position based in either Düsseldorf or London, reporting directly to the Head of Continental Power Trading.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of existing analytical tools and methodologies.
  • Analyze market trends and utilize existing models for informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide insights and trading recommendations.
  • Progress into a trading role with the opportunity to manage proprietary risk.
  • Foster and enhance internal and external relationships to optimize market intelligence, ensuring thorough coverage of supply and demand dynamics and executing a long-term growth strategy.
  • Achieve established financial and non-financial performance objectives, developing value within the portfolio and leveraging market insights to enhance trading opportunities while adhering to defined risk parameters.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in Mathematics, Economics, Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in fundamental analysis within the European Power markets.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial insight.
  • Highly analytical and numerical, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Python is essential.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively across all organizational levels.
