Job Summary

RINA is seeking a highly skilled Marine Senior Surveyor to join our team. As a Classification Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting classification surveys of ships in service, surveying various maritime equipment, machinery, and cargo-handling equipment, and handling surveys and certification on behalf of public and governmental authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct classification surveys of ships in service
  • Survey various maritime equipment, machinery, and cargo-handling equipment
  • Handle surveys and certification on behalf of public and governmental authorities
  • Engage in effective reporting, communication, and collaboration with clients and colleagues
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and growth of RINA
  • Generate accurate and concise reports
  • Address clients' queries on a daily basis
  • Demonstrate a high level of effectiveness and commitment

Requirements

  • Formal qualification in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including class surveyor, owner superintendent, shipyard quality control inspector, or Chief Engineer (on board of merchant ships)
  • Previous experience as a surveyor of Classification Societies is advantageous
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of hull, machinery, materials, equipment, and safety systems of ships
  • Physically able to work in confined spaces, hazardous atmospheres, extreme temperatures, and weather conditions
  • Willingness to travel frequently
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English languages, both spoken and written
