Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position in Volcanic Margin Formation Modeling

The University of Bergen invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position in the Department of Earth Science. The position is part of a project focused on understanding volcanic margin formation through 2D and 3D numerical modeling.
The successful candidate will work on developing and applying geodynamic models to study the evolution of rifted margins, with a focus on magmatic output and mantle melting processes.
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with a strong background in quantitative tectonic modeling and a passion for understanding the complex processes involved in passive margin formation.
The position involves collaboration with international partners, publication of results in top-tier journals, and presentation at conferences.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of scientific productivity.
About the ProjectThe project aims to advance our understanding of the controls on magmatic output during volcanic margin formation using a combination of 2D and 3D numerical modeling, seismic data, and observational constraints from the North Atlantic region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and running geodynamic models, analyzing results, and contributing to the writing of publications.
Requirements- PhD in Tectonics/Geodynamics or equivalent degree
