As a leader in the digital transformation of the energy sector, Cegal AS is seeking a skilled Product Owner to join our team. This role involves shaping and delivering cutting-edge software that enhances geoscience workflows.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Cegal's Blueback Toolbox, a comprehensive suite of nearly 100 plug-ins designed to extend the functionality of the Petrel E&P software platform. This tool empowers geophysicists, geologists, and reservoir engineers by streamlining seismic data processing and geomodelling, leading to more accurate results in less time.
As a Product Owner, you will bridge the gap between technical teams and business needs, ensuring that development aligns with customer requirements and industry advancements. You will refine client needs into actionable user stories, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and oversee the product backlog to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day execution of the product strategy and alignment with the dedicated engineering team.
- Record and refine client requirements, translating them into actionable user stories.
- Create specifications, mockups, and functionality documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Product Manager, support, analysts, tech-sales, QA, and developers about design and functionality.
- Dynamically maintain and prioritize product feature backlogs.
- Participate in, and in some instances hold, sprint plannings and stand-up meetings with (lightweight) SCRUM-master responsibilities.
- Provide second/third line software support.
- Project manage software collaboration with clients to ensure quality and timing of delivery.
- Perform acceptance testing of new features.
- Assist testers with creation of test data, test plans, and test cases to validate new functionality.
- Maintain and update user and technical documentation for software releases.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a related role within a software team, ideally a software team specialized within the geoscience domain.
- Experience in geoscience roles, with a strong understanding of seismic data analysis, well analysis, geomodelling, and reservoir engineering.
- Experience with Petrel workflows and data types for understanding client workflows.
- Experience in Agile framework will be advantageous.
What We Offer:
- Career paths, including trainee programs, mentorships, and growth dialogue.
- Influence, working in a company with global impact yet room to stand out and make a difference.
- Professional growth, benefiting from a training budget and dedicated time for learning and growth.
- Fun at work, enjoying a supportive and flexible work environment that enables you to thrive both professionally and personally.
- Technology, testing the latest technologies and implementing them in real-world scenarios.
- Work-life balance, prioritizing employee well-being and supporting a healthy work-life balance.
- Diversity initiatives, supporting diversity in the tech industry through various programs and networks.
